God’s set purpose out of love is to save the world from the captivity and slavery of sin and woe and also from the dark forces of evil by giving His only Son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice to redeem the world to Himself. Ironically, He used the help of wicked men to accomplish this purpose. After the resurrection, the believers discovered that God had overcome the injustice and cruelty of the cross by raising Jesus from the dead thereby demonstrating His power and love. God transformed evil into good because “All things work together for good”
(Romans 8:28). The death and resurrection of Jesus from the dead satisfied God’s demand for Justice and brought about our salvation and peace with God.
The apostles were above all, witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Peter states, “This Jesus, God raised up” and “we are all witness” (Acts 2:32) Peter proves that the resurrection of Jesus Christ was foretold in the Old Testament. All of us who have experienced the transforming power of the risen Lord in our lives are called upon to be His witnesses to the end of the world (Acts 1:8).
