The Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Prof.
Attahiru Jega has boasted that INEC database cannot be hacked into by
anybody unless in a case of an insider collaboration
“As far as I am concerned, our database cannot be hacked; if that happens, then someone on the inside must have compromised because we have in place checks and balances that if such happens, we will know who did it”, Jega was quoted as saying.
Jega was reacting to the allegation by the Department of State Service that the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, had planned to hack into the database of the commission. The Punch also claimed that Jega was prepared to return to the classroom as a university teacher in June after the general elections.
Just early Wednesday, the Ghanaian Government confirmed that their official website had been hacked by cyber terrorist who could access sensitive government files.
