The Prime Minister of Britain, David Cameron, has refused publicly to
support the Duke of York in the wake of allegations that he "sexually
abused" a teenage girl.
When asked about the controversy during a radio interview, Mr Cameron would only say: "I'm not going to make any comment on it. Obviously, the Prince has made his own views very, very clear, and I think I'll leave it at that."

However, Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, did give the Duke his support yesterday, saying he had his "sympathy".
"Prince Andrew, let's be very clear, is a guy who does a huge amount of unsung, unheralded work for this country...So if you are asking me whether I have sympathy for him, of course I do."
Meanwhile, a retired Harvard law professor who is suing the woman concerned for defamation says she is a "serial liar". Alan Dershowitz, who has vehemently denied Virginia Roberts' claims that she was forced to have sex with him, says he can demonstrate her claims are untrue.
In court papers filed in Florida, Professor Dershowitz says
one of her claims - that she had sex with him on a private island - was
easy to disprove as he had only ever spent one night on the island, when
he stayed with his family.
