Multi-billion South African department store chain brand, Shoprite is currently embroiled in a Copyright mess that hit social media yesterday evening.
In a very lengthy thread written by talent manger Faruk Adamu on his Twitter page @BL_Capitol, he narrated the case between him on behalf of an upcoming artiste Friday Emeh and Shoprite.
According to him, Friday had recorded a jingle for Shoprite and had gone to pitch a proposal to the market giant. He was however rebuffed by the management only for his jingle to begin being put in circulation by Shoprite.
This led to legal litigation via the Nigerian Copyright Commission under which the said jingle has since inception been registered under. Bureaucratic red-tape and the mere fact that they were going against a big industry player like Shoprite didn't however win them any favours and he has come to social media to request a joint demand for Justice for Friday.

Note! This is not a case of South Africans oppressing/Intimidating Nigerians but a pure case of Nigerians oppressing Nigerians with the support of an agency of @NigeriaGov— Adavs A. faruk🇳🇬🏴 (@BL_Capitol) August 30, 2019
