Coronavirus in Brazil: President Jair Bolsonaro supporters demand reopening of businesses in Sao Paulo

Supporters of Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro took to the streets of Sao Paulo on Saturday forming a motorcade in protest against the current anti-coronavirus safety measures put in place by Sao Paulo's Governor Joao Doria.

Footage shows the motorcade making its way through the streets demanding Doria's impeachment and for the lockdown to be eased up to restart the economy

On Sunday, 19 April Bolsonaro participated in an anti-COVID-19 restrictions protest in Brasilia. On Friday, 17 April, the Brazilian president fired Health Minister Luiz Henrique Mandetta who had repeatedly publicly disagreed with the president over the country's COVID-19 response.

Brazil has 58,616 cases of coronavirus with over 4,000 related deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
