Delta warlord and leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, has met with the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Development, Hon. Abubakar Momoh.
GbaramatuVoice reported that the duo met on Sunday in Oporoza, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta state.
The minister also met with the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, being part of strategic consultation efforts to address the multifaceted challenges in the oil-rich region. He conveyed Mr. President’s message, urging continued efforts to uphold peace in the region, facilitating optimal oil production and minimizing oil theft.
Minister Momoh was accompanied by Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and other top government functionaries. They deliberated on strategies to combat crude oil theft and improve infrastructure in the region.
Meanwhile, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo has organised profuse sacrifices and thanksgiving to Bini-Ebi, Madinorbo goddess, in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State. He rendered prayers for peace, security and stability.
