Ondo Assembly’s Parlimentary Secretary,
Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, has assessed the level of progress on the repairs of the Owena-Akure road.
The Lawmaker visited the scene on Monday in his capacity as Chairman of the House Committee on Works, being part of his oversight functions.
A significant portion of the road at Owena axis had collapsed due to heavy rainfall, leaving travellers and motorists stranded along the busy Ondo-Akure highway.
Ogunwumiju, who expressed satisfaction with the level of work done, stressed the need for building durable roads in the economic interest of the state. He also emphasised government’s commitment to infrastructural development in the State.
Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, who represents Ondo West Constituency I at the State Assembly, charged the State Ministry of Works, handlers of the repairs, to ensure
that the work is completed in no time for the relief of road users.
