The Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly and Chairman Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Jide Ipinsagba says late Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON has laid an indelible legacy worthy of emulation.
Senator Ipinsagba stated this when he visited the family of late Ondo state Governor in his Ibadan residence.
The senator was received by his wife, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, and other members of the family.
Senator Ipinsagba noted that though the late governor fought gallantly to stay alive, but every human existence is subject to the will of God.
He noted that the nation has lost one of its great men.
Responding on behalf of the family, the brother to the late governor, Professor Oluwole Akeredolu, said the exit of the governor was a painful one at this crucial moments of Nation's democratic advancement.
Professor Akeredolu added that the family is consoled by the fact that he has gone to rest in the Lord.
Meanwhile Senator Ipinsagba had paid similar visit to the Palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye and Ojomoluda of Ijebu-Owo, Oba Kofoworola Oladoyinbo to express his condolences to the people of Owo over the passing away of the Late Governor.
In his condolence speeches, Senator Ipinsagba pointed out that, this period in the Kingdom, called for a sober reflection because the late Governor was a loving individual who cared much about the people of Ondo State.
The Traditional rulers in their responses thanked the Senator on behalf of the kingdoms and prayed for the repose of the soul of late Governor Akeredolu.
The monarchs added that those the deceased left behind should strive hard to keep the flag flying in the area of good representation that would be of benefit to everyone.
