Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), will hold the first-ever Michael Adekunle Ajasin International Conference from Sunday, November 3, to Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Themed "Education, Politics, and Nation Building: A Reflection on the Life and Philosophy of Michael Adekunle Ajasin," the conference aims to honor the legacy of the distinguished statesman and former Ondo State governor for whom the university is named.
In a statement, Dr. Olusanya Faboyede, Chairman of the Organising Committee, announced that the keynote address will be delivered by Bashorun Sehinde Arogbofa, a respected leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Afenifere.
The event will be chaired by the Visitor to the University and Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, as the Chief Host.
Dr. Faboyede shared that participants will arrive on Sunday, November 3, with the official opening on Monday, November 4, and conference sessions on Tuesday, November 5, at the University’s Multipurpose Hall.
This landmark event reflects AAUA’s commitment to exploring the interplay of education, politics, and nation-building, themes central to the philosophy of the late Michael Adekunle Ajasin.
