The Mebinone Support Group for Aiyedatiwa has expressed confidence that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa's victory in the November 16 governorship election will usher in more development for Ondo State.
Speaking to journalists in Akure on Tuesday, the group’s convener, Engr. Mebinone Asogbon, highlighted the governor’s track record of good governance since assuming office.
“Aiyedatiwa understands the challenges faced by the people, and his victory is for everyone, regardless of their political affiliations,” Asogbon stated.
He emphasized the widespread support for Aiyedatiwa, noting that various organizations, civil society groups, and individuals rallied behind him due to his commitment to delivering quality governance.
According to Asogbon, Aiyedatiwa has significantly improved security in the state by strengthening the Amotekun corps, ensuring residents can move freely without fear. He also praised the governor for reviving abandoned projects and fostering inclusive governance.
“His leadership is people-focused, and his experience in governance has earned him the love and trust of the people. Aiyedatiwa’s administration will undoubtedly bring more development and infrastructure to Ondo State,” Asogbon added.
He also credited Aiyedatiwa’s loyalty to his predecessor, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, as a key factor in his success. According to Asogbon, Aiyedatiwa’s rare dedication as a deputy earned him widespread respect and support.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, won the election with 366,781 votes, defeating his closest rival, Mr. Ajayi Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 117,845 votes.
Asogbon called on Ondo residents to continue supporting Aiyedatiwa’s administration to ensure the delivery of democratic dividends across the state.
