Newly appointed Special Assistant on Security to the Delta State Governor, Mr. Clement Ofovwi, popularly known as General Oloye, has congratulated His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on being named Best Governor of the Year by ThisDay/Arise News and New Telegraph newspapers.
Speaking to journalists in Asaba, General Oloye described the recognition as a well-earned honor, commending the governor’s leadership in governance, infrastructure, economic development, and security.
He highlighted the transformative impact of the MORE Agenda, noting that the administration’s efforts have significantly enhanced the well-being of Deltans.
The former Niger Delta warlord praised Governor Oborevwori for his inclusive leadership and dedication to the state’s progress.
According to him, the awards reaffirm the governor’s commitment to impactful policies that have strengthened security, empowered youth, and driven economic reforms.
Expressing gratitude for his appointment, General Oloye thanked the governor for entrusting him with the role of Special Assistant on Security.
He also acknowledged key political figures who contributed to his selection.
"I deeply appreciate Governor Oborevwori for the confidence he has placed in me. I also thank other political leaders who supported my nomination. This appointment is a call to service, and I am committed to ensuring the security and stability of our state," he stated.
Now an advocate for peace and security, General Oloye reaffirmed his dedication to collaborating with law enforcement agencies and community leaders to promote crime prevention and maintain peace.
He commended the governor’s proactive security approach, which has led to a reduction in crime and improved synergy among security agencies.
"As SA on Security, I will work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure Delta State remains peaceful and conducive for business and development. Security is the foundation of progress, and I will leverage my experience and network to support the government’s initiatives," he added.
He also extended appreciation to prominent political leaders, including Hon. Chief Peter Uviejitobor, Commissioner for Oil and Gas; Hon. Chief Vincent Oyibode, Chairman of Udu LGA; and Hon.
