Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor of Delta State, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator James Manager made this announcement on Wednesday in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, following a meeting at the Government House.
Manager stated, “All PDP members in the state, including the governor, former Governor Okowa, the Speaker, the state party chairman, and all local government chairmen, have agreed to transition to the APC. We cannot continue to remain in a sinking boat.”
Prior to the announcement, Okowa addressed a gathering in his native dialect, expressing his commitment to making the right decision.
“Rest assured, we will not head in the wrong direction. We will choose the best path for our people,” the former governor said in a video that has since gone viral.
