Following the truck accident that occurred today at the Pen Cinema Bridge, chairmanship hopeful for Agege Local Government, Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel, has sympathized with the victims and expressed deep gratitude to God for sparing lives.
The accident, which involved a fully loaded truck that fell off the bridge onto two parked empty buses beneath, caused injuries but no fatalities, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.
Speaking to journalists at the scene, Hon. Olasunkanmi, fondly known as TOS, said, “I am grateful to God for not allowing sorrow to visit us today in Agege. This incident could have brought untold pain to families, friends, and the entire community, but Mercy said no.”
He extended heartfelt sympathies to the injured driver, who sustained serious injuries, and to the survivors who suffered minor injuries. “I pray for their full and speedy recovery," he said. "I also sympathize with the owners and drivers of the damaged vehicles.”
Hon. Olasunkanmi further commended the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) for their rapid response, which he noted prevented a potentially greater tragedy. “I sincerely appreciate the swift action of our first responders.
