President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has praised the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for the successful implementation of its One-Stop-Shop (OSS) initiative, describing it as a transformative step forward for the country’s energy and logistics sectors.
During a courtesy visit to the NPA Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, Dangote expressed strong appreciation for the enhanced operational efficiency and streamlined coordination the OSS has delivered since its launch in October 2024.
“The establishment of the One-Stop-Shop has brought a significant shift in logistics and distribution. It is a bold and commendable move that is already yielding measurable results,” Dangote said.
He noted that while the Dangote Group had projected handling 600 vessels annually through the port system, that number has already been exceeded within months of the OSS’s commencement, reflecting the platform’s early impact.
“Exceeding this figure so quickly demonstrates just how effective the system has become under the leadership of the NPA,” he added.
Dangote further credited the OSS with facilitating the domestic sale and distribution of petroleum products in Naira, reducing transactional delays and improving the overall energy supply chain. He commended the seamless collaboration between the NPA and other government agencies as instrumental to the project’s success.
In his response, Dr Dantsoho attributed the achievement to strong backing from key government figures, including the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji.
“This project’s advancement is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration between the public and private sectors,” he stated.
Dangote reaffirmed the Group’s readiness to continue partnering with public institutions to drive economic development, saying the OSS represents a model example of effective public-private cooperation in national progress.
