Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, visited President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence on Tuesday. Tinubu has been in Lagos since last week, where he has been inaugurating various projects. He plans to remain in the state until the Sallah celebrations conclude.
Fubara’s meeting with Tinubu is likely related to the ongoing state of emergency in Rivers State. The President declared a six-month state of emergency, during which he suspended Fubara, his deputy, and members of the State Assembly. A sole administrator has since been appointed to oversee the state.
Recently, Fubara also met with his former political mentor, Nyesom Wike, in an effort to reconcile their differences. Wike played a crucial role in Fubara’s rise to the governorship, despite facing significant opposition from various stakeholders in the state.
