Senator Ede Dafinone has reaffirmed his commitment to unlocking meaningful development in Delta Central Senatorial District through a united political front, aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government.
Speaking comparatively at the APC Unity Meeting held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Wetland Hotel in Ughelli, Delta State, Dafinone emphasized the importance of collective resolve in achieving the party’s developmental goals for the region.
The meeting, which brought together APC stakeholders of Urhobo extraction from both federal and state levels, served as a platform to consolidate party unity and strategy ahead of future elections. The convergence of party leaders underlined a growing momentum to translate political alignment into visible transformation for the people of Delta Central.
Senator Dafinone, representing Delta Central in the Senate, described the strategic engagement as a developmental alliance with the APC-led Federal Government. According to him, the collaboration aims to unlock tangible progress that reflects the aspirations and needs of the people. “Our alignment with the APC-led Federal Government is a developmental alliance aimed at unlocking tangible progress for Delta Central,” he stated.
Nevertheless, he reiterated that the APC in Delta Central is not just seeking political relevance, but also actively working to ensure that their constituents benefit from national development initiatives. “We will keep working together to deliver the progress our people deserve,” Dafinone affirmed, calling on party faithful to remain steadfast and united.
The senator further noted that the unity meeting marks a significant step toward consolidating efforts and energizing the party's grassroots structure. He described the gathering as a reflection of the shared vision and solidarity among APC leaders, emphasizing that such synergy is vital for achieving sustainable development across the district.
However, one of the major outcomes of the meeting was the unanimous vote of confidence passed in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. The resolution endorsed both leaders as the APC’s sole candidates for the 2027 Presidential and Governorship elections, signaling early preparation and a clear strategic direction for the party.
In the same vein, Dafinone applauded the show of unity, noting that it sends a strong message of political maturity and cohesion within the party. “Our message is clear, we stand together. The future of Delta Central is bright,” he said, expressing optimism about the district’s developmental prospects under a strengthened APC structure.
The meeting also served as a rallying point for party loyalists and an opportunity to realign local political strategies with federal development agendas. Discussions focused on infrastructure, youth empowerment, and social welfare programs that could be prioritized for the benefit of Delta Central residents.
