The recent ugly trend in Agbarho where children are being abducted by criminal elements has received condemnation from Hon. Stella Okotete. Two weeks ago, the Executive Director NEXIM Bank and former National Woman Leader of the APC was at the Palace of the Osuivie of Agbarho as part of her schedule to drum support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori. It was at the Palace that the Agbarho Monarch first briefed her about the ugly trend of children abduction in Agbarho.
In her reaction, Hon Stella Okotete condemned the act and described it as heartless and nefarious. She tasked the local vigilante to mobilize and work in synergy with the police with a view of curbing the menace.
The situation got better until it resurfaced few days ago when it was reported that the criminals are at it again. It is becoming a recurrent crime in Agbarho, orchestrated by a criminal gang who must be flushed out in order for residents to live without fear.
Aware of this recent turn of event, Hon. Stella Okotete expressed her displeasures over the security architecture of Agbarho community. She attributed the inability of the security agencies to identify and arrest the culprits to lack of seriousness and intelligence gathering.
In her words; "this is a crime against humanity and the entire security agencies must collaborate in carrying out local intelligence and serious networking. Abducting innocent children for ransom and ritual is barbaric and evil. The perpetrators must be identified and flushed out immediately before it gets out of hand."
Hon. Stella Okotete therefore promised to seek the intervention of the Inspector General of police to draft in a special team to Agbarho in order to tackle this wicked act of the criminals once and for all.
She assured parents whose children were abducted to be hopeful as they will not be abandoned by the government. She also admonished parents to be vigilant and watchful over their children and to report suspicious movement of strange faces to the police and the local vigilante. Security is every man's business and the people must assist the police with useful information to guide their investigation, she noted.
