The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji has approved the sum of N262,596,700 for the supply and installation of furniture items, equipments to the offices of some technical advisors, Director-General and Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs).
The approval was given at during Ekiti State Council Virtual Meeting chaired by the Governor and made available to journalists by the State’s Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun.
The governor gave the approval following the recommendation of a company named D and T further, as the preferred contractor to carry out the job due to the company’s financial and technical capability on similar jobs previously delivered to the State while the contractor was given six weeks to complete the job
In a similar development, Oyebanji also approved the sum of N312,479,547.30 for the construction of perimeter fence at the Government College, Oye-Ekiti.
According to the commissioner, the lack of a perimeter fence at the Government College, Oye Ekiti is a threat to the Government’s Safe School initiative as it is accessible to all shades of personalities.
The approval is therefore to curb unauthorized access with the aim of protecting the School from its hitherto vulnerable state and susceptibility to unwarranted disturbances and crime including theft.
“The job is to be executed by the Bureau of Special Projects through Direct Labour and completed within six weeks, ”he said.
