Igando-Ikotun, Lagos – July 14, 2025 — The Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, has been re-elected for a second term following his victory at the just concluded Lagos local government elections held on Saturday, July 12.
In a heartfelt message of appreciation released on Sunday, Comrade Akinsanya expressed deep gratitude to the residents of Igando-Ikotun for entrusting him once again with their mandate. He polled a total of 14,487 votes, a testament to the community’s confidence in his leadership and first-term performance.
"I dedicate this victory to Almighty Allah. It is not by my power or wisdom, but by His grace," Akinsanya said. "The support from the good people of Igando-Ikotun is deeply humbling. May Allah make it easy for me to do even more in service to our people."
He extended special thanks to the political leadership at both state and national levels, acknowledging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his political mentorship, as well as Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and APC Lagos Chairman, Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi, for their roles in ensuring a peaceful and successful election.
Akinsanya also lauded key party leaders and stakeholders, including:
- Hon. Bisi Yusuf GMT, Chairman of the Asiwaju 2027 campaign, for his unwavering support
- Hon. Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, OFR, SSA to the President on SDGs
- Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, Member, House of Representatives, Alimosho Federal Constituency
- Hon. Kehinde Joseph, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Alimosho Constituency 02
- Hon. Oduntan Aramide, APC Chairman, Igando-Ikotun LCDA

He also commended members of the G12, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC 2025), market leaders, artisans, traditional rulers, religious leaders, CDC/CDAs, traders, the legislative arm, and staff of the local government for their collective role in the electoral process.
"This is a victory for all. Your financial, moral, and spiritual support made this triumph possible," he stated. "To the entire management, NULGE, and staff of the LCDA, I appreciate your unanimous backing throughout this journey."
Comrade Akinsanya assured constituents that his second term will focus on consolidating the achievements of his first tenure while launching new developmental initiatives across the LCDA.
"We are committed to delivering more dividends of democracy. With your continued support, we will build on our progress and leave a lasting legacy of impactful governance," he added.
The re-elected chairman concluded by dedicating his victory to the people of Igando-Ikotun and reaffirmed his commitment to accountable and people-centered leadership.
