The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, describing her passing as a “colossal loss” to the party.
In a statement issued on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described Mama Lydia as “a humble, virtuous, and compassionate woman, renowned for her generosity and selfless service to her family, church, and community.”
Morka drew attention to her devout Christian faith and her active leadership within the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), noting that her contributions to the church’s growth were “immeasurable.”
He extended condolences to her immediate family, the COCIN community, Plateau State, and the wider APC fold, while offering prayers for her peaceful repose.
“We received with shock and sadness the news of the passing of Mama Lydia Yilwatda. Her death is a colossal loss not only to her family and community but to the entire APC family,” Morka said.
The death of the mother of the APC National Chairman was earlier confirmed.
