Uvwie APC Leaders and Stakeholders Rally for Massive Success in Nationwide E-Registration Drive as 2027 Elections Approach

On January 18, 2026, leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State convened a crucial meeting at the Uvwie Town Hall in Effurun to galvanize support for the ongoing nationwide APC E-Registration exercise. The gathering, presided over by Comrade Wilfred Ileleji, the Chairman of Uvwie APC, served as a platform to implement key resolutions from the recent Delta State APC stakeholders' meeting and to emphasize the urgency of the digital membership registration drive, which is set to conclude by the end of the month, specifically January 31, 2026. With only days remaining before the exercise closes at the end of January, the meeting became a powerful call to action, urging ward leaders, political appointees, and party faithful to collaborate intensively and deliver an outstanding performance that will position Uvwie far ahead of other local government areas in Delta State. The session, expertly convened and chaired by Comrade Wilfred Ileleji, Chairman of Uvwie APC, served as the local implementation arm of resolutions reached at the recent Delta State APC stakeholders’ forum. Chairman Ileleji opened proceedings by delivering a clear and compelling briefing on the strategic importance of the E-Registration initiative. He explained that this digital membership registration represents a revolutionary shift in party administration, moving away from cumbersome paper-based records to a secure, transparent, and comprehensive online database of APC members across Nigeria. This modern system, he noted, is designed to eliminate duplication, reduce fraud, improve data accuracy, and provide real-time insights that will strengthen the party’s organizational capacity.

The APC's E-Registration initiative, a landmark digital transformation effort launched nationwide in early January 2026, aims to create a credible, accurate, and comprehensive online database of party members. This modern approach aligns with global best practices in political party administration, replacing outdated manual processes with a transparent, technology-driven system that eliminates errors, enhances accountability, and facilitates better organization for future electoral activities. As part of the party's broader strategy to strengthen its structures ahead of the 2027 general elections, the exercise allows both existing members to revalidate their status and new supporters to join seamlessly through an electronic portal.

Prominent figures at the meeting included Hon. Chief Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata, Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Services and a key APC leader in Uvwie LGA, alongside Hon. Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni JP, the Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council. Both leaders passionately called for sustained collaboration, increased unity, and active participation among stakeholders to ensure a resounding success in the exercise for the benefit of the party in Uvwie and Delta State at large.

Chief Ofoni stressed the critical importance of the E-Registration in boosting the political strength of the APC in Uvwie. He urged ward leaders to organize dedicated meetings in their respective wards, involving political appointees and other stakeholders, with a special focus on fundraising to support mobilization efforts. The goal, he emphasized, is to achieve a significant increase in the total number of online registered APC members in Uvwie, positioning the local government area far ahead of others in the state. By driving mass participation, the council aims to demonstrate unwavering commitment to the party's growth and to contribute meaningfully to national objectives.

Hon. Ighrakpata echoed these sentiments, highlighting practical arrangements to motivate excellence. He announced that wards achieving the highest number of registered members by the exercise's end would receive rewards, underscoring the need for seriousness and dedication in the remaining days. He specifically noted that wards 3 and 4 could seek assistance from the LGA Chairman if needed, while leaders of other wards should take the lead in sponsoring and driving the process. To ensure oversight and quality, the Uvwie Council Chairman will deploy inspectors to every ward for supervision, and all leaders were advised to be physically present at registration venues to guide and encourage members.

In a show of solidarity with the broader political leadership, Hon. Ighrakpata called on all political appointees to contribute financially—no matter how small—to the success of the exercise in their wards. He framed this support as a demonstration of loyalty to Governor Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, whose bold decision to lead a major political realignment—described by many as a "movement" into the APC—has brought renewed hope to Deltans. This shift, which integrated Delta State's political structure into the ruling party at the federal level, has positioned the state to benefit from stronger national partnerships, accelerated development projects, and enhanced governance.

The leaders also linked the E-Registration to preparations for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continuous voters' registration, which has seen a slight postponement. Hon. Ighrakpata emphasized that similar mobilization strategies—ward-level coordination, financial contributions, and unified efforts—would be applied to boost voter registration and strengthen Uvwie's voting power. The resolve to deliver massive support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori in the 2027 elections remains non-negotiable, he declared, positioning these exercises as foundational steps toward electoral dominance.

The meeting concluded on a note of unanimity, with all attendees—including the Uvwie APC Chairman Comrade Wilfred Ileleji, Vice Chairman of Uvwie Council Hon. Andrew Agagbo, and other stakeholders—agreeing on the imperative of working in unity and collaboration. This collective commitment is seen as essential to driving both the E-Registration and future voter registration efforts to successful conclusions, thereby giving Uvwie an unbeatable advantage in party affairs and the impending 2027 polls.

In the context of Delta State's evolving political landscape, where Governor Oborevwori's leadership has bridged previous divides, the Uvwie APC stakeholders' meeting reflects a maturing party machinery focused on grassroots empowerment and digital innovation. The E-Registration is not merely administrative; it is a strategic tool for building a verifiable, inclusive membership base that will underpin the APC's ambitions nationwide. With Delta State reportedly leading in registration figures in some updates, the push in Uvwie exemplifies local determination to contribute to this momentum.

As the deadline approaches, the calls from Hon. Ighrakpata and Chief Ofoni serve as a rallying cry for every APC member, appointee, and supporter in Uvwie to act decisively. By embracing this digital exercise, the local government area not only strengthens its internal cohesion but also positions itself as a powerhouse in Delta's APC structure, ready to play a pivotal role in delivering victories that will sustain progress, unity, and development for the people of Uvwie and beyond.

This gathering underscores a pivotal moment in Nigerian politics, where technology meets grassroots mobilization to shape the future of one of Africa's most influential parties.
