U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday blamed the immigration policies of former President Joe Biden for a deadly attack in the state of Florida, calling for stricter enforcement and sweeping policy changes.
In a post shared on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump alleged that an undocumented migrant from Haiti was responsible for the killing of a woman at a gas station, describing the incident as a consequence of what he characterized as failures in border security and immigration management.
“This animal was allowed to stay here because the Biden Administration granted him, and all Haitians, ‘Temporary Protected Status,’ a massively abused and fraudulent program which my Administration is working to terminate, but Deranged Liberal District Court Judges are standing in our way,” Trump wrote.
The president criticized the Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a humanitarian initiative that allows nationals from designated countries facing crises to remain temporarily in the United States. He argued that the program has been misused and pledged efforts by his administration to end it.
Trump also directed criticism at members of the judiciary, accusing federal judges of obstructing his administration’s immigration agenda.
He said the Florida incident should “be enough for these Radical Judges to stop impeding my Administration’s Immigration Policies, and allow us to end this scam once and for all.”
The president urged Republican supporters and what he described as “common sense Americans” not to forget the consequences of Democratic immigration policies. He claimed that the United States had become a “dumping ground” due to what he described as open-border policies that allowed millions of migrants to enter without proper vetting.
According to Trump, his administration is working to reverse the situation through stricter deportation measures and tighter border controls. He warned that a return to Democratic leadership could lead to the reopening of borders and transform the country into what he called a “safe haven for criminals.”
The remarks come amid ongoing national debate over immigration policy, border security, and the balance between humanitarian protections and enforcement measures.
Trump concluded his statement by offering condolences to the victim’s family and vowing swift justice.
“We will ensure quick and severe justice is served in this case,” he said.
The incident has further intensified political tensions around immigration in the United States, with both major parties expected to continue clashing over policy direction as the issue remains central to national discourse.
