Governor Monday Okpebholo has urged eligible youths in Edo State to take advantage of the ongoing Nigerian Army 91st Regular Recruits Intake by applying to join the Army.
The call was made in a statement released on Tuesday in Benin City by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr Patrick Ebojele.
According to the statement, the appeal follows a scheduled visit by the Nigerian Army sensitisation team to Edo State from April 8 to April 14. The visit is aimed at guiding and supporting prospective applicants through the recruitment process and encouraging greater participation from the state.
Governor Okpebholo encouraged qualified young men and women across the state to participate in the recruitment exercise, noting that the opportunity provides a pathway to meaningful employment, national service, and personal development.
“I urge Edo youths to come forward in large numbers to boost the state’s participation and meet its national quota in the Army recruitment exercise. This is a chance for young Edo people to build disciplined and purposeful careers,” the governor said.
He also called on parents, guardians, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious institutions, and youth organisations to mobilise eligible candidates within their communities and encourage them to participate in the exercise.
The governor further advised interested applicants to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal to obtain full details on eligibility, requirements, and application procedures. He stressed the importance of ensuring that all necessary documents are properly prepared before visiting designated sensitisation centres during the exercise period.
Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to youth empowerment and job creation, noting that participation in the recruitment exercise would help provide career opportunities for young people in Edo State.
“The Edo State Government remains committed to creating opportunities for youths and calls for collective support to ensure the success of this exercise,” the governor added.
