ASABA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has secured a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in Delta State, polling a massive 407,646 votes in a statewide exercise conducted across all wards in the 25 local government areas. Following the official declaration of the results, the Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Honorable Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni JP, extended his warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to the President, describing the sweeping victory as a validation of Tinubu's grassroots popularity and visionary leadership.
The official primary results were announced on Saturday evening in Asaba, the state capital, by the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who served as the State Coordinator and Returning Officer for the APC Presidential Primary Election. The announcement followed the successful collation of figures gathered from the decentralized voting centers across the state's three senatorial districts.
Governor Oborevwori disclosed that the party recorded a total strength of 467,815 registered members in Delta State. Out of this registered base, 407,646 party faithful were accredited and actively participated in the direct primary process. According to the certified figures, President Tinubu secured the entirety of the accredited votes, completely defeating his sole challenger, Mr. Stanley Osifo, who recorded zero votes across the state.
Declaring the definitive outcome of the internal election, Governor Oborevwori stated: "By the powers conferred on me as the State Coordinator and Returning Officer, I hereby declare that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, having polled overwhelming votes in the presidential primary election, is hereby declared winner and returned elected as the presidential candidate of the party."
The declaration was made under the direct observation of federal security agencies, independent media organizations, and critical political stakeholders. Present at the collation center to witness the final validation were the official agent for President Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon; the agent representing Mr. Stanley Osifo, Mr. Kelvin Ezekiel; and the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Sir Etekamba Udo Umoren.
Governor Oborevwori commended ordinary party members and institutional leaders for maintaining absolute order and peace throughout the voting window, describing the smooth logistics as a testament to internal party unity and democratic maturity. Mirroring this sentiment, the Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, expressed immense gratitude to the various organizing committees for delivering a credible process without internal friction.
