Billionaire businessman and former California gubernatorial candidate Stephen Cloobeck has officially called off his engagement to his younger fiancée, Adva Lavie, who is currently facing up to 11 years in prison for allegedly using dating apps to target and burglarize wealthy men across Los Angeles County.
The couple's romantic relationship reportedly ended in early June, with Lavie moving out of Cloobeck’s $26 million Beverly Hills mansion. They had originally announced their engagement in February and distributed "Save the Date" invitations for a June 12 wedding in Jerusalem, though their plans were initially delayed after a judge restricted Lavie from leaving the state amid her ongoing criminal proceedings. Despite the broken engagement, sources close to the former couple indicate that Cloobeck remains friendly with Lavie and still cares for her well-being.
The formal split follows another high-profile law enforcement encounter on Tuesday night, when Beverly Hills police arrested Lavie while she was having dinner with Cloobeck at the Mediterranean hotspot Azur. Officers taken into custody discovered that she had removed her court-mandated GPS ankle monitor.
The latest arrest also stems from an outstanding Riverside County felony grand theft warrant linked to an April 2025 incident at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California. Police allege Lavie stole over $25,000 worth of luxury items from an Airbnb property and a victim's vehicle—including designer sunglasses, expensive wallets, credit cards, cologne, and a Rolex watch—after becoming upset over festival access passes.
Following her arrest on Tuesday, a judge formally revoked Lavie’s bond due to the court order violation regarding her ankle monitor. She is currently being held in custody without bail, pending a bail review hearing to determine if she will remain incarcerated ahead of her upcoming felony burglary trial in Los Angeles County.
