The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has felicitated with a distinguished son of Delta State and former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Stephen Orishe Oru, on the occasion of his 79th birthday anniversary.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the occasion, Senator Dafinone, on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, extended warm birthday greetings to the former minister, describing him as an accomplished public servant, respected politician and elder statesman whose years of service have contributed to the development of Delta State and Nigeria.
Dafinone acknowledged Dr. Oru's contributions to public service, particularly his service as Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Chairman of the Governing Council of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara.
According to the Senator, Dr. Oru's roles in these institutions reflected his commitment to education, human capital development and the advancement of the nation.
He also noted Dr. Oru's service as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, where he brought his experience and knowledge to bear in serving the Niger Delta region and Nigeria.
Senator Dafinone said Dr. Oru's years of dedication to public service remained worthy of recognition and commendation, while celebrating his contributions and accomplishments at 79.
He wished the former minister continued joy, good health and God's blessings in the years ahead.
“Happy 79th birthday, Sir. May the years ahead be filled with greater joy, good health and continued blessings,” Dafinone stated.
