Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, engaging leaders and executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Dafinone, who is the APC senatorial candidate for Delta Central in the 2027 election, held a strategic meeting with the party’s LGA and ward executives on Monday at the Council Hall, Isiokolo. He was accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.
The meeting centred on strengthening the APC at the grassroots, mobilising support for the party’s candidates and reviewing Dafinone’s activities and interventions in the National Assembly.
The senator also outlined his vision and plans for Delta Central, urging party executives to take the APC’s programmes and message to every community and ward across Ethiope East.
Dafinone said his office had facilitated several opportunities and interventions across Delta Central, including contracts, pensionable employment, empowerment initiatives and infrastructural development. He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining an open-door policy for constituents, party members and stakeholders.
Dafinone Seeks Unity Among APC Stakeholders
Earlier, the senator paid a visit to Chief Love Ojakovo, a prominent APC leader and former political ally of former Deputy President of the Senate and former APC senatorial candidate for Delta Central, at his residence.
The engagement focused on strengthening unity, alignment and cooperation among APC stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.
Dafinone described the meeting as an opportunity to discuss the future of Delta Central and strategies for advancing the interests of the people.
“Today, I met with Chief Love Ojakovo at his residence. We had a meaningful and engaging conversation on the future of Delta Central and the steps we must take to advance the interests of our people. I remain committed to listening, engaging and working with our leaders and stakeholders at all levels,” he said.
The meeting is also notable against the backdrop of previous political alignments within the Delta APC, as Ojakovo had been associated with the Omo-Agege camp in Ethiope East before the party’s primary and subsequent consolidation of various structures under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Focus on Grassroots Strength
Reflecting on his engagement with the APC executives in Isiokolo, Dafinone said the discussions were aimed at developing effective strategies for grassroots mobilisation and strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 polls.
“Earlier today, I engaged the leadership of the APC LGA and Ward Executives of Ethiope East in a strategic meeting in Isiokolo. We discussed measures for effective grassroots mobilisation and how best to strengthen our collective efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to party leaders, executives and stakeholders across Ethiope East for their continued commitment, adding that a stronger and more united APC would contribute to the progress of the people.
Ogedegbe Charges Executives on Unity
Speaking at the meeting, the Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, JP, urged APC executives to see themselves as the pillars of the party at the grassroots.
Ogedegbe called for collective efforts among party leaders, executives and stakeholders to secure victory for the APC’s candidates in the 2027 elections.
He emphasised the importance of unity, commitment and sustained grassroots mobilisation, urging party executives to remain steadfast in building a stronger APC structure across Ethiope East.
The meeting was attended by the APC LGA Chairman, Chief Midwest Iboyetete, ward executives and several party leaders and stakeholders, including Chief Godwin Ogbetuor, Chief John Itebu, Chief Adelabu Bodjor, Chief Justin Oberhiri Uloho, Chief Ejemudaro Salubi and Chief Samson Anomi.
