Dafinone acknowledged the reported steps taken by the Delta State Government, under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, to constitute an Administrative Panel of Inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death. He also noted the reported investigation by the Delta State Police Command.
He appealed to the people of Ughelli Kingdom, the Urhobo nation, civil servants and other concerned Deltans to remain calm and allow the relevant authorities to conduct their investigations without interference.
According to him, the demand for answers should be pursued through due process so that the circumstances surrounding Ekwevugbe’s death can be properly established.
Dafinone stressed that the investigation should be guided by the evidence and that anyone found culpable should face the law, while emphasizing the need for justice for the deceased and his family.
He said he would continue to monitor developments concerning the matter and engage with relevant authorities as efforts continue to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
The senator also extended his thoughts and prayers to Ekwevugbe’s family, friends, colleagues and the people of Ughelli Kingdom, praying for strength for the bereaved family and eternal rest for the deceased.
