Police in Kumasi in the Ashanti region have arrested dozens of suspected armed robbers

Dozens of suspected criminals have been rounded up in a swoop in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.
The swoop is the first of many to be conducted by the Ashanti regional police command in an attempt to rid the city of criminals.

"It is an exercise that started yesterday, it is going to continue tomorrow and it will linger on for a very long time."  The Public relations officer of the Ashanti regional police command ASP Mohamed Yusif Tanko told Pulse.com.gh
The swoop was conducted at PZ, Dr. Mensah, Roman hill, Central Market , Asafo interchange and Railway all popular places in Kumasi near the central business district of Adum.
Residents and traders in these areas have been complaining about the increasing rate of criminal activities by these suspected criminal.
The suspects are being screened by the police, "We have begun investigations into their cases." Said ASP Yusif Tanko.
