The Executive Secretary of Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Princess Abike Bayo-Ilawole, has assured the NYSC management that it would prioritise the welfare of corps members posted to the Commission.
The Executive Secretary gave the assurance when she hosted the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple at the Commission's Administrative Headquarters at Oba-Ile, in the outskirts of the state capital.
The Administrative Head of the Commission said that OSOPADEC is entrusted with the responsibility of socio-economic welfare of the mandate areas and intervenes in the development of oil producing and impacted communities in Ondo State.
According to her, the Commission continually seeks to improve access and quality of education of mandate areas by executing programmes to further strengthen and increase the teaching workforce.
She said that corps members would widen their horizon and expand their capacity while serving in the mandate areas, which, according to her, will enhance the educational responsiveness of students in the affected communities.
The OSOPADEC boss promised that the Commission would utilise the services of corps members maximally and equally cater to their needs as a means to motivate them to increase their productivity.
Speaking earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple intimated the Executive Secretary that the Commission previously engaged the services of corps members in schools within the mandate areas but had stopped for some time now.
The State Coordinator, while promising to put the services of corps members at the disposal of the Commission for the educational advancement of the mandate areas, asserted that NYSC would create a strong synergy with the Commission to improve the quality of life of rural dwellers.
The NYSC helmsman reiterated the commitment of the Scheme to assist the Commission in achieving its core mandate and explained that OSOPADEC should equally fulfill its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to enhance the operations of the Scheme in the Sunshine State.
He said that both reputable organisations have things to benefit from each other and called for more robust and deepening relationships.
