Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has officially switched his allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This announcement followed a private meeting at the Government House in Asaba on Wednesday.
Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, confirmed the move, stating it was made after “extensive consultations with political stakeholders and in the interest of Delta’s long-term development.”
Oborevwori, who won the 2023 gubernatorial election as a PDP candidate, was welcomed by senior APC officials. Political analysts are already viewing this shift as a strategic realignment with significant implications for the upcoming 2027 general elections
