As we celebrate Democracy Day, The All Progressives Congress (APC), Uvwie chapter, reflects on the remarkable strides Delta State has made under the leadership of His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. His tenure as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and now as Governor has demonstrated that experience, vision, and political sagacity are vital in building a state anchored on development and transformation.
The possibility of an APC and PDP merger in Delta State is not just a political strategy—it is a testament to the power of unity. Governor Oborevwori’s leadership has shown that when we set aside bitterness and embrace collaboration, democracy thrives, and development accelerates.
From Propaganda to Progress: Uvwie’s Remarkable Transformation
Under Governor Oborevwori’s administration, Uvwie has shed the weight of empty promises and emerged as a beacon of tangible progress. Roads have been rehabilitated, public infrastructure upgraded, and the social contract between government and the people strengthened.
I firmly believe that when leaders prioritise governance over politics, the people reap the benefits. The governor’s commitment to connecting communities, fostering ideas, and delivering results has silenced critics and reaffirmed that Delta’s best days are ahead.---
A State United: Development Across Delta’s Three Senatorial Districts
From Asaba to Isoko, Warri to Bomadi, and Koko to the heart of Delta Central In Ughelli to Uvwie and the Ethiopes, the governor’s impact is undeniable. His administration has transcended ethnic and political divides, ensuring that no region is left behind.
Warri, our oil-rich economic hub, is witnessing a revival—better urban planning, improved security, and renewed investor confidence. This is the Delta we envisioned: a land where progress is not confined to paper but felt in the lives of everyday citizens.
Federal and State Synergy: Accelerating Delta’s Growth
The collaborative efforts between the Delta State Government and the Federal Government have been pivotal. Key figures like the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, have worked tirelessly to align national projects with Delta’s developmental goals.
This cooperation aims to facilitate critical infrastructure, improve transportation by air, and create economic opportunities. These prove that when leaders work beyond party lines, the people win.
Democracy Day Reflection: Two Years of Foundation, Two Years of Harvest
The past two years under Governor Oborevwori have laid a solid foundation. The next two will be about consolidation—more projects, sustainable peace, and an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
Democracy is not just about elections; it is about delivering development that outlives political tenures. Governor Oborevwori understands this, and his actions reflect a leader committed to legacy, not just power.
A Prayer for Delta: Peace, Justice, and Divine Guidance.
As a people, we are blessed with rich heritage and resilience. On this Democracy Day, I pray for continued peace, wisdom for our leaders, and a delta where justice and progress reign.
Let us move forward as one, embracing unity over division, and work towards a state that future generations will be proud of.
Happy Democracy Day, Deltans!
Signed:
Comrade Wilfred Ileleji, Chairman, APC Uvwie, Delta State.
