A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Temitope Adewale, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that the president is working tirelessly to restore Nigeria’s greatness through comprehensive economic, social, and infrastructural reforms.
Adewale, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I and chairs the House Committee on Transportation, made the remarks in a statement on Monday following a courtesy visit to the president in Lagos.
He said, “It was a son’s visit to his father. He remains a father I am proud to associate myself with and I can tell you that the President needs to be praised.
“Asiwaju is happy that the nation is improving rapidly in terms of economic, social, financial, and infrastructural rejuvenation,” he added.
He noted that the administration’s poverty reduction efforts are beginning to show measurable results, citing steady economic growth and stabilisation of the Nigerian currency as key indicators of progress.
Adewale attributed the turnaround to key reforms, including the revival of local refineries and fiscal policies aimed at tightening economic leakages.
He also reiterated recent incentives announced to strengthen technical education as evidence of a government responsive to national development needs.
“For the first time in many years, we now have refineries that are refining fuel for local consumption. Just recently, the President announced incentives to boost technical education in the country,” he said.
Adewale recalled the burden of massive debts prior to Tinubu’s administration, with debt servicing consuming nearly all revenue and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) dropping sharply—from $2.2 billion in 2014 to just $0.47 billion in 2022.
“Now, you can understand why those in the opposition are pushing closer to the President and finding our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), more attractive,” he added.
According to Adewale, the federal government has prioritised equitable project distribution across all 36 states and improved revenue allocation to governors, regardless of party affiliation—evidence, he said, of a truly national agenda under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative.
