Preparations are in top gear for the commencement of the Hon. Tope Agbulu Constituency Games and Student Bursary Programme, a landmark initiative aimed at fostering youth empowerment, promoting education, and strengthening community ties across Akoko South West Constituency II.
The event, which kicks off on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, will run through to Friday, July 25, 2025, with the grand finale and bursary award ceremony set to take place at the Community Primary School Field, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State.
According to the organisers, the programme will feature a blend of sporting and cultural competitions, including football, Draft, and Ayo Olopon.
The initiative is designed not only to provide recreational opportunities for the youth but also to promote traditional games and community spirit.
In line with Hon. Agbulu’s commitment to education, a bursary of ₦25,000 each will be awarded to 100 deserving students from various towns within the constituency.
The bursary distribution will take place during the closing ceremony of the games, providing much-needed financial relief to students pursuing their academic goals.
Cash Prizes for Winners
Participants in the games will also have a chance to win attractive cash prizes across the featured sports. For the football category, the winning team will take home ₦200,000, the second-place team ₦130,000, and the third-place team ₦100,000.
Winners in the traditional Ayo Olopon game will receive ₦100,000 for first place, ₦50,000 for second place, ₦35,000 for third, and ₦25,000 for fourth. Similarly, the Draft competition will award ₦75,000 to the winner, ₦50,000 to the runner-up, ₦35,000 to the third-place winner, and ₦25,000 to the fourth.

Speaking on the purpose behind the programme, Hon. Tope Agbulu described it as an opportunity to celebrate the talent, resilience, and cultural richness of the constituency.
