The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has condemned the destruction of a dialysis center in northern Gaza, calling it part of Israel’s ongoing genocide against Palestinians and a deliberate assault on Gaza’s collapsing health infrastructure.
Hamas on Monday denounced the “fascist occupation army’s” destruction of the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in northern Gaza, saying it was Israel’s “new crime in the systematic targeting and destruction of Gaza’s health sector.”
“The fascist occupation government continues its policy of targeting all aspects of life in Gaza, including hospitals and medical centers, as part of the genocide its criminal army has been waging against our people for over 19 months,” it said.
Director General of Gaza’s Health Ministry Muneer al-Boursh said on Sunday that the Israeli military had completely demolished the Noura al-Kaabi dialysis center.
He said the healthcare facility had been providing vital care to more than 160 kidney failure patients despite severe shortages of fuel and medical supplies.
The center, which is part of the Indonesian hospital, had been renovated and reopened just weeks ago after a previous Israeli assault.
Hamas said that due to the humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israel, tens of thousands of patients – women, children, and the elderly – now find themselves without medical care or specialized centers to treat chronic and critical illnesses, particularly kidney failure, cancer, and other diseases.
It also pointed out that such savage crimes against innocent civilians in Gaza are carried out with political and military cover from the US administration, amid shameful international silence and complicity.
“We, the Hamas Movement, call upon the international community, the UN, and its institutions – particularly the Security Council – to restore respect for humanitarian values and international law, take decisive action to halt the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and hold the occupation’s war criminals accountable for their atrocities,” the movement added.
Israel launched its Gaza genocide on October 7, 2023, after the Hamas resistance movement carried out a military operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
So far, the Tel Aviv regime has killed over 54,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 124,00 others, in the besieged territory.
