NPF Extends Grace Period for Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement to August 12

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the grace period for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to August 12, 2025. This decision, approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, follows a wave of public concerns and feedback regarding the reactivation of the digital permit application process.

According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension underscores the NPF’s commitment to transparent and citizen-focused policing. He noted that public feedback has been pivotal in guiding ongoing reviews aimed at making the application system more secure, user-friendly, and accessible.

“The extension is designed to allow for further enhancements and refinements to the permit application process to ensure that no citizen is unfairly affected,” the statement read.

The Force further disclosed that improvements are being made to both the physical and online application procedures, including upgraded verification systems and simplified processes to reduce delays and prevent undue inconveniences.

Citizens are reminded that the only authorized platform for applying and renewing the Tinted Glass Permit is www.possap.gov.ng. The public is also encouraged to report any unauthorized charges, hidden fees, or instances of extortion during the application or biometric capturing process via the police hotline: 09169967000.

The NPF reaffirmed its dedication to public safety, digital innovation, and continuous improvement in service delivery, while appreciating Nigerians for their cooperation and patience as reforms unfold.

The extension was officially announced on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
