The Bayelsa State Police Command has announced the deployment of strategic security measures across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations scheduled for Friday, June 6.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Commissioner of Police, Alonyenu Francis Idu, the Command has put in place “water-tight operational strategies” to ensure peace and public safety before, during, and after the Muslim festival, urging residents to celebrate responsibly and maintain law and order.
The statement revealed that Personnel have been stationed at key locations including prayer grounds, major roads, worship centres, recreational spots, and other public areas with conventional officers, tactical units, intelligence operatives, and a special drone team deployed.
Furthermore, the Command is also working with other security agencies and community stakeholders to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
Therefore, CP Idu has called on members of the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or via the Command’s emergency numbers: 0703 457 8208 and 0916 732 2691.
The police extended warm wishes to the Muslim faithful and expressed hope for a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration.
The statement read: “The Bayelsa State Police Command wishes to assure the general public of its security preparedness ahead of Eid-el-Kabir (Eid-el-Adha) celebrations scheduled for Friday, 6th June 2025, the Command has deployed water tight operational strategies to ensure peace, safety, and order before, during, and after the celebrations.
“The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Alonyenu Francis Idu, extends warm wishes and goodwill to the Muslim faithful and all residents, urging them to celebrate in peace and harmony while maintaining public order.
“As part of the Command’s security framework, personnel’s and assets has been strategically deployed across prayer grounds, major roads, recreational centers, worship centers, and other key public spaces throughout the state. This includes the deployment of conventional police officers, tactical units, intelligence unit and Special Drones unit.
“Furthermore, the Command is working in synergy with sister security agencies and critical stakeholders to ensure a hitch free celebration.
