Prophet Ezekiel Olaniyi Adeoti: A Life Transformed by Divine Purpose

General Overseer, Trust in the Lord Jesus Ministries

Born in 1948 in the serene town of Agbonda, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria, Prophet Ezekiel Olaniyi Adeoti is a living testament to God’s transformative power. His journey—marked by divine encounters, prophetic calling, and unwavering obedience—traces a remarkable path from ancestral traditions to a life of spiritual leadership and deliverance ministry.

Early Life: Roots and Revelation

Prophet Adeoti was born into a family steeped in traditional religion. Raised from infancy by his grandmother, he grew up surrounded by the customs of his grandfather, a herbalist. Yet, unlike many of his peers, young Ezekiel was never subjected to the rigors of farm work. Instead, he was nurtured and favored, often accompanying his grandfather for meals rather than labor—perhaps an early sign of the spiritual feeding he would later provide to many.

His father, the first Christian in the family and a former palm wine tapper turned Lagos-based businessman, instilled in him a sense of discipline, faith, and a deep value for education. Ezekiel began his formal education at Saint Stephen’s Anglican Primary School, where Christian teachings and missionary influence laid the foundation for his future spiritual transformation. He later attended Esie/Iludun Grammar School and graduated in 1971. Despite opportunities for further education, he chose to begin working, trusting in the moderate success of his father’s ventures.

Professional Journey and Spiritual Awakening

His early career began with the African Continental Bank (ACB) in Ibadan. Known for his sharp intellect, he passed the prestigious UK-based Association of Insurance and Banking (AIB) exams with distinction. His outstanding performance earned him commendation and rapid promotions. However, his promising corporate path was interrupted by the death of his father, prompting a return to Lagos to manage the family business. This period, though materially stable, was spiritually unsettling and marked the beginning of a divine restlessness.

It was during this time of personal struggle that Prophet Adeoti encountered a higher calling. Introduced to the Christ Gospel Apostolic Church (CGAC) by a cousin, he began to manifest the signs of divine empowerment—his prayers sparked healings, his words inspired deliverance. He was ordained as an Elder, but his growing influence bred jealousy and resistance among leaders. One particularly powerful deliverance—healing a child of epilepsy—led not to commendation but to exclusion. Yet this rejection only served as God’s redirection.

The Call to Ministry

In search of deeper truth, he joined the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM). There, he encountered a series of profound visions that shaped his spiritual identity. In one vision, while in line to receive a gift, he was handed only a slip of paper that read: "Get ready to serve." Though he sought to share these revelations with MFM’s General Overseer, Dr. D.K. Olukoya, the opportunity never came. But the divine message was clear: his assignment was unique and independent.

Still hesitant, Prophet Adeoti ventured into business again, only to meet repeated failures. In frustration, he challenged God, proposing to build a church where tithes and offerings would not be collected. God’s reply was swift and convicting: "You will be a thief in My eyes if you defraud My principles." This was the final breaking point—and the beginning of full surrender.

In a transformative trance, God revealed to him the name of his future ministry. He stood alone in a church, preaching to an unresponsive crowd, when a voice from heaven declared the name: "Trust in God Ministry." This later evolved into “Trust in the Lord Jesus Ministries”, due to registration adjustments. The call was no longer negotiable.

Birth of the Ministry

In May 1998, Prophet Adeoti began his full-time ministry journey with fervent fasting and prayer atop a holy mountain in Ibadan. During these spiritual encounters, he received divine symbols: a Bible wrapped in gold with a matching pen, a Bible adorned with national flags, and vivid revelations from the Book of Revelation, Chapter 6. On May 26, 1998, God established an enduring covenant with him—as sweet as honey and as firm as destiny.

The ministry began humbly in a corner of his late father’s compound at 1A Abule Ijesha Road, Yaba, Lagos, alongside an MFM house fellowship. Slowly but steadily, the ministry grew into a powerful force for deliverance, healing, and prophetic intercession. Though he had no formal Bible school training, Prophet Adeoti’s teachings carried divine insight, scriptural depth, and spiritual power—hallmarks of a man taught directly by the Spirit.

Family and Legacy

Prophet Ezekiel Olaniyi Adeoti married Mrs. Dorcas Oluwakemi Adeoti in 1979, a union built on faith, love, and shared purpose. They are blessed with seven childrensix of whom are living—and thirteen grandchildren. Their children, including Folake, Pastor Tunde, Damilola, Lola Ola-Adeoti, Nike, Barr. Tolu, and Busayo, are thriving in both ministry and their professional callings, continuing the legacy of faith and service.

His family remains an integral part of the ministry, providing strength, continuity, and spiritual depth.

Current Mission and Outlook

Now in his later years, Prophet Adeoti remains steadfast in his mission. A relocation plan to Bariga, Lagos, is underway, with increased focus on expanding spiritual education through the revived prayer school arm of the ministry. Though earlier attempts to plant branches in other areas met limited success, he views those efforts not as setbacks but as divine training grounds.

For reflection and relaxation, he finds peace in the Word of God and the warmth of his family. He remains discerning in spiritual relationships, having learned through experience that not all who wear the cloak of clergy walk in integrity.

He holds in high regard fathers of faith like Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Dr. D.K. Olukoya, and Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, drawing spiritual nourishment and wisdom from their ministries.

A Man of Covenant and Purpose

Prophet Ezekiel Olaniyi Adeoti’s life is one of divine orchestration—from a child born into tradition to a prophet raised in the fire of obedience. He has dedicated his life to healing the broken, delivering the oppressed, and guiding the lost toward Jesus Christ.

His story is not just a biography—it is a prophetic legacy. A legacy of surrender. A legacy of vision. A legacy of unwavering trust in the Lord Jesus.
