The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed 1,600 corps members to Edo State for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation exercise, set to commence nationwide on Tuesday, July 29.
Edo State Coordinator of the NYSC, Dr. Frances Ben-Ushie, made the announcement in a statement released on Friday in Benin. She disclosed that the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony will take place on August 1 at the state’s permanent orientation camp, located opposite Igbinedion University in Okada.
According to her, Governor Monday Okpebholo is expected to officially declare the orientation course open, while the Chief Judge of Edo State will administer the oath of allegiance to the new corps members.
Ben-Ushie commended residents of the state for their continued hospitality toward corps members and appealed for sustained support during the one-year national service.
“We sincerely appreciate the good people of Edo for their favourable disposition to corps members over the years,” she said. “We further solicit the usual assistance in making the one-year mandatory national service a memorable one for the incoming corps members.”
