Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has urged the newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, to focus on building a stronger, more resilient party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Prof. Yilwatda was unanimously elected during the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held Thursday in Abuja, attended by President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors, and other top party leaders.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola, Obasa described Yilwatda as a perfect fit for the role, citing his background in academia, digital transformation, and public service. He praised the new chairman’s work as a former Resident Electoral Commissioner, ICT director, and Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
“Prof. Yilwatda’s track record of reforming public service through technology aligns with APC’s mission to uplift communities and advance national development,” Obasa stated. “I am confident that his leadership will unify the party and position it for success in 2027.”
