The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party has described the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as an “Uber” politician.
In a statement, Abure accused Obi of elevating subterfuge in politics, alleging that the former Anambra governor has been crying wolf where there is none.
According to Abure, Obi has booked a place in the Guinness World Records as a man affiliated with multiple political parties at the same time, driven by desperation to preside over Nigeria.
“It is unfortunate that Obi has turned himself into an irony and a paradox in the Nigerian political space. He has become an ‘Uber’ politician, unwilling to take a position and stand by his decision,” Abure said.
His remarks came in response to Obi’s recent directive asking supporters to back African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in the August 16 by-elections across several states.
