Glo Cuts International Call Rates to Over 15 Countries
Lagos — Telecommunications giant Globacom has slashed its International Direct Dialing (IDD) tariffs, making calls to more than 15 major destinations significantly cheaper for customers across Nigeria.
The new rates, which took effect on August 10, are available to both new and existing subscribers, with call costs now starting from as low as ₦30 per minute.
Under the revised tariffs, calls to the United States now cost ₦30 per minute, down from ₦35, while rates to India have been reduced from ₦45 to ₦40, and calls to the United Kingdom have dropped from ₦400 to ₦350. Other major reductions include Saudi Arabia at ₦300, Cameroon at ₦700, and China at ₦75.
Rates to neighbouring African countries have also been reviewed:
- Benin Republic – ₦650 per minute
- Niger Republic – ₦750
- Ghana – ₦500
- Togo – ₦650
Calls to the United Arab Emirates have been cut from ₦450 to ₦325, while Germany is now ₦550. Rates to Côte d’Ivoire and Libya are ₦700 each, and calls to Malawi have been reduced from ₦1,200 to ₦1,100.
Globacom said the reductions are part of its strategy to offer more value, encourage greater connectivity, and make Glo the preferred network for international calls.
The company also revealed plans to introduce new IDD bundles, promising even more attractive offers for frequent international callers.
