In a commendable move, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and all Deltans to prioritize the ongoing voter registration exercise organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Hon. Akpososo Oghenekaro, a prominent figure in Delta State politics, has praised the Governor for his proactive leadership in urging citizens to engage in this critical democratic process, emphasizing its importance for the 2027 general elections. The Governor’s directive, delivered during a strategic meeting at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, underscores his commitment to strengthening the democratic process and fostering unity within the APC.
Governor Oborevwori’s address, delivered to an audience of party leaders from the ward, local government, and state levels, highlighted the need for a robust mobilization effort to ensure that eligible voters, particularly those who have turned 18 since the last registration in 2022, are enrolled. He stressed that voter registration is a cornerstone of democratic participation, enabling citizens to exercise their constitutional right to choose their leaders. The Governor’s call to action is not only a directive to APC members but also a broader appeal to all Deltans to take part in shaping the future of the state and the nation through active electoral engagement.

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Following the meeting, the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Valentine Onojeghuo, addressed journalists, emphasizing that the gathering was convened to consolidate party unity and raise awareness about the ongoing voter registration exercise. He stressed that unity and loyalty are critical to the party’s success, stating, “Without unity, there can be no loyalty.” Onojeghuo expressed confidence that a successful registration drive, particularly targeting young voters turning 18, would position the APC for a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.
