Doha, December 29, 2025 – Qatar has solidified its position as a leading hub for digital innovation and artificial intelligence in 2025, achieving significant milestones through major international events, strategic policy launches, and partnerships that advance its Digital Agenda 2030, aligned with the broader Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) highlighted these accomplishments in a recent social media post, describing 2025 as a year of achievements reflecting Qatar's commitment to national digital transformation and leadership in advanced technologies regionally and globally.
A standout event was the inaugural MWC25 Doha, held November 25-26 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center—the first Mobile World Congress in the Middle East and North Africa. 6 by GSMA in partnership with MCIT, it showcased breakthroughs in 5G, AI, and smart connectivity, reinforcing Qatar's role in regional digital advancement.
Qatar also hosted the second edition of World Summit AI Qatar on December 9-10, attracting over 8,000 participants and featuring 14 strategic partnerships in AI solutions, cloud infrastructure, and digital governance. The event emphasized building AI's future collaboratively, with a Qatar AI Pavilion showcasing national innovations.
Additionally, Qatar launched its first international Quantum Computing Hackathon in November, bringing together global talent to develop solutions in sectors like healthcare and finance, further establishing the country as an emerging technologies hub.
Policy advancements included the release of the Digital Inclusion Index Report 2024, measuring progress toward equitable digital access, and the National Digital Authentication and Trust Services Strategy, establishing frameworks for secure digital identities and trust services.
The GovAI Program emerged as a flagship initiative, accelerating AI adoption in government through partnerships and projects aimed at enhancing public services and efficiency.
Qatar expanded generative AI deployment via the Microsoft Copilot Adoption Program. Phase one graduated nine entities, achieving 62% adoption, over 9,000 daily users, and savings of more than 240,000 working hours. Phase two now includes 17 more organizations.
On the awards front, Qatar secured three honors at the GCC Digital Government Award 2025, recognizing initiatives like the Qatar Digital Academy. Domestically, the ninth Qatar Digital Business Awards celebrated 15 winners across 13 categories for digital innovation.
MCIT emphasized that Qatar's robust digital infrastructure, forward-thinking policies, and skilled workforce enable a new generation of AI-powered services, boosting quality of life and global competitiveness. The Digital Agenda 2030 has been recognized internationally as a best practice model.
As the year closes, MCIT reiterated its dedication to an innovative, sustainable digital future supporting a knowledge-based economy. Strategic goals include positioning Qatar as a digital innovation hub, ensuring secure transformation, aligning policies with global standards, investing in human capital, and leveraging AI for government efficiency.
