The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 11, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, has successfully conducted its ward congress at Agbon Primary School, Isiokolo, in what party leaders described as a major boost for grassroots democracy.
The congress, which attracted party faithful and stakeholders across the ward, was marked by a peaceful, transparent, and orderly process, reflecting the party’s resolve to deepen internal democracy at the grassroots level.
At the end of the exercise, Chief Roji Lawrence was re-elected as Ward Chairman, having previously served in the same capacity. His return to office is widely regarded by members as a vote of confidence in his leadership style and commitment to party unity.
Party faithfuls expressed optimism that Chief Lawrence’s experience would further strengthen cohesion within the ward and position the APC for greater success in future political engagements.
The Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Nyerhovwo Tonukari, who attended the congress, commended members for their maturity and peaceful conduct throughout the process.
He described the exercise as a true reflection of the APC’s commitment to unity, fairness, and democratic principles.
Professor Tonukari congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by party members. He called on them to work collaboratively and tirelessly to advance the fortunes of the party in Ward 11 and beyond.
He further emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization, noting that strong ward structures remain the foundation for electoral success at higher levels.
The newly inaugurated Ward 11 executive committee is led by Mr. Roji Lawrence as Chairman and Mrs. Efere Evelyn Oghenenyerhovwo as Vice Chairman, with Mr. Mudiaga Monday Ovie serving as Secretary and Mr. Stanley Sowho as Assistant Secretary.
Other members of the executive include Mrs. Onoriode Efe as Treasurer; Mrs. Faith Okpe as Assistant Treasurer; Mrs. Roseline Omrore as Financial Secretary; and Ebruvwiyo Irorobeje as Assistant Financial Secretary.
The youth wing is headed by Mr. Martins Moses as Youth Leader, assisted by Ms. Ubogu Cynthia, while the women’s wing is led by Mrs. Ejoke Otah Efere as Woman Leader and Mrs. Okagbare Edeki Funke as Assistant Woman Leader.
Mr. Joseph Arhuara emerged as Organizing Secretary, assisted by Mrs. Grace Ugbigho, while Mr. Michael Oku Etamevwerha and Mr. Ochuko Onakpoma were elected as Auditor and Assistant Auditor respectively.
Mr. Rukevwe Okoro will serve as Legal Adviser, assisted by Mr. Isaac Ekere, while Mr. Imoniunu Ohwofasa and Mr. Emmanuel Okurekpo were elected as Public Relations Officer and Assistant PRO.
Victor Onyokoko was elected Welfare Officer, with Mrs. Abolo Beatrice as Assistant Welfare Officer. Mr. Arthur Amreya will serve as Special Adviser, while Mr. Benson Erakpotobor, Mrs. Grace Agbabune, Mr. Felix Emoghene, and Mrs. Amagre Yellow were elected as Ex-Officio members.
Party leaders expressed confidence that the newly constituted executive would consolidate on existing achievements and further strengthen the APC’s presence in Ward 11 and Ethiope East at large.
