ASABA — The Delta State Government has officially opened registration for the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP), a strategic youth empowerment initiative aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic self-reliance among students in state-owned tertiary institutions.
In a statement issued on behalf of the state government, registration for the programme commenced on Monday, February 2, 2026. Eligible students are required to apply online via the dedicated portal at www.tepapplication.com.
The Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme is designed to identify, nurture, and support students who possess innovative and commercially viable business ideas. Participants will receive training, mentorship, and resources to transform their concepts into sustainable enterprises, ultimately positioning them as job creators and contributors to Delta State’s economic growth.
The initiative forms a key component of the state government’s broader agenda to empower young people, reduce unemployment, and drive sustainable development through entrepreneurship.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for TEP, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be of Delta State origin
- Be enrolled in 200 Level, 300 Level, or penultimate year of study
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age
- Have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
Be a student of one of the following Delta State-owned universities:
- University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor
- Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka
- Southern Delta University (SDU)
- Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Anwai-Asaba
- Possess an innovative, feasible, and bankable business idea
Applicants must submit the following documents through the online portal:
- Recent passport photograph
- Admission letter
- Birth certificate
- Local Government Area certificate of origin
- Detailed business plan proposal outlining the idea, market potential, and implementation strategy
