Asaba, Delta State, February 14, 2026 – Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso (JP), OON, Abe I, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, on the milestone of his 18th coronation anniversary, praising the monarch’s reign as profoundly impactful, stabilising, and development-driven.
In a statement issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori commended the revered traditional ruler for his steadfast, purposeful, and visionary leadership, which has transformed Uvwie Kingdom from a once-troubled domain into a haven of peace and a preferred destination for investors and development initiatives.
The governor noted that since ascending the ancient throne of his forebears 18 years ago, HRM Abe I has provided exemplary guidance that has repositioned the kingdom, fostering an atmosphere of harmony, unity, and sustained progress.
“Uvwie Kingdom has metamorphosed from a once troubled kingdom to a peaceful and investor-friendly domain under the reign of HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I,” the governor stated. “Through inclusive leadership and unwavering commitment to peace, the kingdom has witnessed remarkable stability and progress.”
Oborevwori highlighted the monarch’s close and effective collaboration with his Council of Chiefs, youth groups, community stakeholders, and other key actors, which has strengthened communal bonds, sustained harmony, and laid a solid foundation for economic growth and social stability across Uvwie Kingdom.
He expressed strong confidence that the prevailing atmosphere of peace and unity has strategically positioned Uvwie to emerge as the commercial nerve centre of Delta State, attracting investments, infrastructure projects, and opportunities that benefit both indigenes and residents alike.
On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, Governor Oborevwori warmly felicitated the royal father, praying for continued divine blessings, robust health, wisdom, and strength to enable him to sustain his remarkable contributions to the traditional institution and the overall development of the state.
“We pray that the Almighty God will continue to grant Your Majesty sound health and divine wisdom to pilot the affairs of your kingdom and to keep offering valuable counsel and contributions toward the growth and development of our dear Delta State,” the governor said.
The tribute from Governor Oborevwori reflects the deep respect and high regard in which HRM Abe I is held across Delta State. His 18-year reign has been widely recognised for promoting lasting peace, unity among Urhobo traditional rulers, cultural preservation, and socio-economic advancement in Uvwie Kingdom.
The anniversary celebration coincides with ongoing efforts by the Oborevwori administration to position Uvwie as a major hub for commerce and investment in the state, supported by massive infrastructure renewal, enhanced security, and economic diversification under the MORE Agenda.
