Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, have ended their engagement and canceled their wedding, which was set to take place in approximately one month.
The couple, who share two young children (ages 2 and nearly 10 months), had been together for several years but reportedly experienced ongoing strain in their relationship. According to multiple sources cited by TMZ Sports and Media Take Out, the final breakdown occurred during a joint bachelor/bachelorette party trip in The Bahamas.
Insiders told TMZ Sports:
“We're told the relationship had been rocky behind the scenes for months ... but things came to a head with a blowup argument at their joint bachelor and bachelorette parties in the Bahamas — and Sarah Jane called it off. The reality is, we're told the relationship is beyond repair ... so the focus will be on co-parenting their two kids moving forward.”
A central point of contention appears to have been the prenuptial agreement proposed by Prescott’s legal team. Prescott, 32, has earned more than $296 million in his NFL career and is currently in the middle of a four-year, $240 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys.
Media Take Out reported that Ramos hired her own attorney to review the prenup, and after weeks of negotiations, the two sides could not reach an agreement. A source familiar with the document described it as “not particularly aggressive” — essentially stating that each party would retain assets acquired before the marriage.
“The prenup wasn’t very strict,” the source explained. “Everyone basically kept whatever they had before the marriage. It was pretty straightforward.”
However, Ramos reportedly sought additional financial security, leading to an impasse.
Days before the breakup became public, Ramos posted on Instagram what now appears to be a poignant message:
“I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends. I love these girls so much.”
The couple has not issued public statements regarding the split. Prescott, who has largely kept his personal life private throughout his career, is expected to focus on co-parenting and his upcoming NFL season with the Cowboys.
The cancellation marks the end of what had been presented as a high-profile relationship between the star quarterback and Ramos, who has maintained a relatively low public profile despite their shared family life.
Both parties are now prioritizing the well-being of their two young children as they move forward separately. No further details on custody arrangements or the status of any legal proceedings have been disclosed.
