Bahrain’s Interior Ministry on Thursday confirmed that a fire broke out at a facility in Muharraq, near the capital Manama, following what it described as an Iranian attack.
In a brief statement, the ministry said civil defense teams responded swiftly to the incident and successfully brought the fire under control. Authorities added that no injuries were recorded.
According to the statement, the blaze occurred in the aftermath of what officials referred to as “Iranian aggression,” though no further details were immediately provided regarding the nature or scale of the attack.
Earlier in the day, warning sirens were sounded across parts of the country, prompting authorities to urge residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe locations as a precautionary measure.
The development comes amid heightened tensions in the region, following Iran’s retaliatory actions in response to recent U.S. and Israeli strikes. Reports indicate that Iran had launched missile attacks targeting strategic locations, including the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Manama.
Emergency services remain on alert as authorities continue to assess the situation.
