Governor Oborevwori Inaugurates Renewed Hope Ambassadors Coordinators, Urges Unity and Results in Delta

Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday inaugurated Local Government and Ward Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, marking a major step in expanding the initiative’s grassroots presence across the state.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Asaba, attracted a wide range of dignitaries, including government officials, party leaders, traditional stakeholders, and members of the public, all gathered to witness what was described as a strategic milestone in grassroots political mobilisation.

Represented at the event by his deputy, Monday Onyeme, Governor Oborevwori emphasized that the inauguration of 25 Local Government Coordinators and 270 Ward Coordinators would serve as a critical bridge between the government and the people at the grassroots level.

According to him, the initiative is designed to deepen engagement with communities, enhance communication, and ensure that government policies and programmes are effectively conveyed to citizens across the state.

Addressing the newly inaugurated coordinators, the governor described them as the “heartbeat” of the Renewed Hope movement at the grassroots, stressing that their appointment goes beyond recognition and confers both authority and responsibility.

He noted that the development represents a defining moment in the evolution of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Delta State, as it formally establishes a structured network capable of taking the government’s vision closer to the people.

Oborevwori highlighted the theme of the programme, “Our Party, One Message, One Mobilisation,” stating that it underscores the importance of unity, discipline, and coordinated action in achieving the objectives of the movement.

He urged the coordinators to remain consistent in their messaging, work collaboratively, and mobilise support with a clear sense of purpose, noting that unity remains the foundation of any successful political movement.

“With the inauguration of these coordinators, we are building a network that is structured, accountable, and responsive to the needs of the people,” he said.

The governor further outlined the responsibilities of the ambassadors, which include engaging directly with residents, listening to their concerns, and communicating the vision of the Renewed Hope agenda with clarity and conviction.

He also tasked them with promoting the achievements of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the Renewed Hope agenda reflects measurable progress in governance and development across the country.

“These accomplishments show that Renewed Hope is not just a promise, but a reality that is impacting lives,” he said, urging the coordinators to serve as visible representatives of the initiative in their respective communities.

Oborevwori stressed that the success of the programme depends largely on unity and commitment, adding that a coordinated approach would make the movement stronger, more effective, and capable of delivering meaningful results.

He charged the coordinators to carry out their duties with discipline, pride, and dedication, emphasizing that their actions must reflect the ideals of service, unity, and hope.

In his remarks, former governor of Delta State and South-South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Ifeanyi Okowa, described the initiative as a well-structured platform designed to engage citizens, shape public discourse, and promote government policies.

Okowa explained that the programme was introduced by President Tinubu in collaboration with progressive governors, including Hope Uzodimma, to strengthen grassroots communication and political participation.

He encouraged the newly appointed coordinators to work closely with ward chairmen, executive members, councillors, and other party leaders to ensure effective coordination and outreach.

Okowa also emphasized the need for ambassadors to counter misinformation by providing accurate information about government policies, particularly key reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy.

According to him, the policy has led to improved revenue allocation, enabled timely payment of salaries, and supported important initiatives like the student loan scheme, which are aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

In a goodwill message, Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Solomon Areyenka, expressed optimism about the party’s future in the state, declaring that it is steadily gaining momentum and moving towards electoral success.

Similarly, APC National Vice Chairman (South-South), Victor Giadom, reminded the coordinators that leadership begins at the grassroots level.

He noted that the ambassadors serve as direct representatives of both the party and the president within their communities, making their roles crucial to the success of the Renewed Hope agenda.

Also speaking, the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Funkekeme Solomon, described the inauguration as a strategic milestone that establishes a functional and coordinated grassroots structure across all 25 local government areas and 270 wards in Delta State.

He urged the coordinators to approach their responsibilities with integrity, unity, and a strong sense of purpose, noting that their performance would play a significant role in advancing the goals of the initiative.

Solomon emphasized that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors programme is designed not only to mobilise political support but also to foster stronger connections between government and citizens, ensuring that policies and programmes are better understood and effectively implemented.

The event concluded with renewed calls for collaboration, accountability, and sustained engagement, as stakeholders expressed confidence that the strengthened grassroots structure would enhance political participation and contribute to the overall development of Delta State.

Observers noted that the inauguration signals a broader effort to consolidate political structures at the grassroots level, positioning the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as a key vehicle for communication, mobilisation, and governance outreach in the state.
